The roleThis role will be accountable for the successful delivery of a cluster of the funds that make up the Energy Redress scheme. Working to the Programme Manager you will manage a team of Development Officers who work on the funds, acting as “critical friends” to applicants and grantees of the scheme and manage delivery of projects.
You will oversee the successful allocation of funds against key scheme priorities and then the delivery of the projects which are funded, with a focus on ensuring the funds deliver meaningful impact. This will include ensuring that fund allocation targets are achieved and that the impact of and insight from funded projects is captured.
The role will work on the Energy Redress scheme which has delivered over £250 million of funding to the voluntary sector over the last eight years. This supports Energy Saving Trust’s mission through supporting national, regional and grass‑roots action on energy justice and mitigating climate change. There will also be opportunities to be involved with other projects that will benefit from your skills.
Theteam
Based in our Renewables, Transport and Decarbonisation team, the role will work on a transformative major grant scheme supporting non‑profit organisations across England, Scotland and Wales. The focus of the scheme is to help people struggling with their energy bills, reduce carbon emissions and stimulate innovation on energy issues.
This will be a leadership role in a collaborative, inclusive, diverse and supportive team working together to help grant funding achieve the maximum positive impact to address the cost of living and climate crises.

What you will do- Think strategically to oversee the allocation of grants under your funds, ensuring that funding targets are delivered through projects that will deliver real impact against fund priorities.
- Oversee the delivery of those projects, monitoring performance and capturing insight and impact through your team of Development Officers.
- Lead a team of Development Officers and collaborate with scheme management and administration staff to deliver our shared goal of supporting action on energy justice and tackling climate change.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with scheme rules across our funds.
- Drive continuous improvement of your funds and across the wider scheme.
- Experience of leadership and strategic thinking in grant funding or programme delivery.
- Experience of managing grant or programme finances.
- Experience of monitoring and delivering continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including at senior level.
