Involve Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd are working with a Design and Manufacturing company based in Wolverhampton to recruit for a Factory Team Leader.

The Role
We are looking to recruit a Factory Team Leader to lead our assembly operation. This is a hands-on leadership role, with approximately 50% of the time spent on the tools, working alongside the team assembling, and 50% focused on team leadership and factory management.
You will be responsible for leading a team of 6–7 assembly operatives, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and KPIs are consistently met. The role will also support and oversee the fabrication side of the operation also
This position would suit someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, leading by example, while also having the capability to drive improvements in processes, systems, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
* Work hands-on with the team assembling using hand tools and equipment
* Ensure build quality meets high standards
* Support fabrication activities where required
* Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
Team Leadership
* Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 6–7 assembly operatives
* Allocate work and manage daily production priorities
* Monitor attendance, performance, and conduct
* Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and support
Quality, KPIs & Continuous Improvement
* Manage production output, quality, and delivery KPIs
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
* Support the development and use of systems and standard operating procedures
* Work closely with management to improve workflow and factory performance
Health & Safety
* Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times
* Promote a positive health and safety culture on the shop floor
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor in a manufacturing or assembly environment
* Strong hands-on mechanical or assembly background
* Experience working with hand tools and fabrication processes
* Proven ability to lead from the front and manage a small team
* Experience with production planning, quality control, and KPIs
* Exposure to process improvement, lean manufacturing, or systems implementation (desirable)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
What’s On Offer
* Competitive salary of £30,000 – £35,000
* Stable, long-term role with a well-established specialist manufacturer
* Day shift hours: 7:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
* Opportunity to play a key role in improving and developing factory operations
