The RoleOur site in Wolverhampton is looking for a Multi Skilled Engineer to work on continental shifts, on a permanent basis with a 4-on 4-off pattern (two days and two nights).
The Engineer will maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, handle onsite repairs, unexpected breakdowns, and perform preventative and day-to-day maintenance on a continuous process production plant. The role requires diagnosing and communicating electrical and/or mechanical faults to support production targets and promote operational excellence.
Shifts:
four on, four off, two day shifts 0645–1900 and two night shifts 1845–0700.
- Responsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of machine parts.
- Rectifying hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical issues.
- Maintaining and updating the Plant, Equipment and Services within the manufacturing facility according to the preventative maintenance schedule and maintenance log.
- Assisting with installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment with support of specialist Tool Room Engineers.
- Participating in improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise plant efficiency.
- Maintain relationships with plant and services contractors/suppliers and arrange for engineering works required through breakdowns, maintenance and projects.
- Organise and maintain the technical database.
- Order spares/consumables required to support engineering activities in-house or by contracted companies.
- Collaborate with Production, Tool Change and Tool Room teams to achieve the required engineering outcomes.
- Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes.
- Perform any other tasks as requested by Management.
- Targets: close number of T Cards to target, keep scrap below target, minimise machine downtime, and ensure planned maintenance and project work are completed on time and within cost.
