CNC 5 Axis Miller Programmer

The Best Connection is recruiting for an experienced CNC 5 Axis Miller Programmer for our Wolverhampton based client

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £41,000 - £41,600 per year

Working Hours:

08:00
-16:30 Monday-Friday

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist/programmer who takes pride in producing accurate work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set, and operate CNC 5-axis milling machines
Create and optimise CNC programs using CAM software
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Manufacture components to tight tolerances and quality standards
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining methods
Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve efficiency

Requirements

Proven experience programming and operating CNC 5-axis milling machines
Strong knowledge of CNC controls and CAM software
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Experience working to tight tolerances
Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering components
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as Hypermill, Mastercam, or Fusion 360

Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens controls
