Role Overview
Position:
Onsite TIG Welder (Aluminium Products) at Collins Aerospace, Rockwell Collins—a Raytheon Technologies company. The role requires onsite work performing TIG welding and brazing on aluminium products, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, setting up and operating TIG welding equipment safely, inspecting welds to meet aerospace standards, collaborating with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform TIG welding and brazing on aluminium products
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to execute welds accurately
- Set‑up and operate TIG welding equipment safely to ensure optimum performance
- Conduct inspections on welds to ensure they meet company and aerospace standards
- Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines
- Continue ongoing internal and external training to meet welding certification requirements
- Ensure the working environment is clean, organised and meets safety and company standards
Morning: 6:00AM–1:45PM (Monday–Thursday) and 6:00AM–12:00PM (Friday).
Afternoon: 2:00PM–10:00PM (Monday–Thursday) and 12:15PM–5:15PM (Friday).

- NVQ/City & Guilds or similar vocational qualification in welding & fabrication or relevant engineering subject (time served will also be considered depending on relevant experience)
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder with significant experience with aluminium products
- Familiar with thin gauge sheet metal welding 0.5–3.5mm
- Experience working to high tolerance and to certified or highly regulated standards
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Welding certification standards would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience in aerospace, motor sport or similar industries is advantageous but not essential
This role may involve access to export‑controlled information and hardware. An export licence may be required to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory security checks, export licence approval, and, if applicable, the completion of a non‑disclosure agreement.
Work EnvironmentOnsite work is required, which includes all production and maintenance employees critical to the development of our products.
