Help us protect people and equipment all over the world

This is a brilliant opportunity to join Fortress Safety as a Manufacturing Engineer and take real ownership of how we build safe, high-quality products  you love turning data into decisions, leading improvement projects that genuinely move the needle, and seeing your ideas embedded on the shop floor, you'll feel right at home here.

You'll lead longer-term manufacturing improvement projects that support our growth — designing efficient, scalable and repeatable processes, and making evidence-based decisions that improve capacity, quality, safety and cost. It's hands-on, collaborative, and highly visible work with a clear line of sight to the business's success.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead longer-term manufacturing improvement projects that drive growth, capacity, efficiency, quality, safety and cost performance
  • Build clear project scopes, plans, timelines, risks and success measures so improvement work is structured, visible and delivered
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Design and Test to design and implement sustainable manufacturing solutions
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data (cycle times, throughput, demand, defects, downtime, inventory, capacity, process performance) to quantify opportunities
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations, business cases and practical actions
  • Design and improve processes, layouts, tooling, jigs, fixtures and standard work for safe, scalable production
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process standards and training materials
  • Collaborate with our global manufacturing teams to standardise processes and share knowledge across sites
  • Apply lean, structured problem-solving and continuous improvement tools to deliver lasting change
  • Champion health, safety, environmental standards and a  right first time  quality culture
What you'll bring
  • A degree, HNC, HND, completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • Experience delivering manufacturing improvement projects in a manufacturing, production, assembly or operational environment
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, with the ability to diagnose issues and turn opportunities into practical improvements
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, standard work, 5S, root cause analysis, process mapping and value stream mapping
  • Strong data analysis skills — using data to spot trends, build recommendations and measure impact
  • Confident communication and the ability to thrive in cross-functional teams
  • Ownership, curiosity, commercial awareness and structured thinking
What we offer
  • Salary of £40,000 – £45,000 per year
  • Pension with employer contribution up to 10.5%
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Life assurance cover
  • Cycle to work scheme and airport parking discounts
  • Long service recognition
