Sample Registration Operative

Hours 22.5 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday, Saturday 08:00 – 16:00.

Responsible for organizing and registering water samples into the IT system. This role ensures accurate sorting, tracking and registration of samples in a timely manner to meet customer requirements. Works closely with other departments to ensure testing timelines are met. Follows Health, Safety and Quality procedures to deliver accurate results in a safe, clean environment.

• Sort through all sample deliveries and arrange samples in time order to support testing in stability where possible. This will require manual handling.
• Match sample paperwork to the relevant samples.
• Register samples into the IT system, meeting the testing requirements provided by the customer, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• If testing information is unclear or not provided, communicate with internal teams or external customers to clarify testing details or specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues related to sample registration.
• Ensure accurate labelling, storage and disposal of samples.
• Complete registration in a timely manner to enable testing within the required time frames as per quality procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and be flexible to help meet demand and achieve required turnaround times with on-time reporting of results.
• Maintain an aseptic approach to the working environment and uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Take responsibility for your own training records to gain full competency in tasks and stay updated on changes. Flexibility may include tasks from other areas.
• Understand and apply 5S principles and lean production standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and help drive the department forward.
• Work with the team to ensure waste is removed via correct waste streams and identify ways to reduce the carbon footprint.
• Undertake any other reasonable task or responsibility requested by a senior manager.

• Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to work under pressure to meet demand.
• Proficient in using IT systems and typing.
• Enthusiastic and able to work efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
