You will lead the Final Inspection team (across shifts, approx. 10 people), ensuring high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while acting as a key point of escalation and support for the wider Quality Control department. As the Quality Control Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day leadership and supervision of the Final Inspection team across shifts, including shift changeover briefings and prioritisation of activities Ensuring the teams safety, quality, delivery performance, and continual improvement Producing and interpreting detailed inspection reports, maintaining accurate documentation in line with the Quality Management System (QMS), and escalating non-conformities Collaborating closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve dimensional concerns, and support corrective actions Conducting routine validation checks on inspection equipment and ensuring compliance with industry standards, particularly AS9100 and AS9102 FAI requirements Driving 5S standards and workplace organisation in the inspection area Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as 8D, Kaizen, SPC, Gauge R&R, and measurement system analysis Acting as a reliable point of contact for other departments and supporting the QC Manager with departmental initiatives Providing feedback, coaching, and support to QC personnel As the Quality Control Supervisor you will bring:
Essential Proven experience in machining and/or inspection within a similarly regulated, precision engineering environment (e.g. aerospace) Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T principles Natural leadership aptitude with excellent communication, people, and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving ability, and a professional approach Experience working within formal quality management systems Desirable Previous experience leading or supervising quality inspection teams Background as a machinist or inspector in precision engineering Relevant management or health & safety qualifications (e.g. IOSH, ACAS, CMI) Engineering qualifications (e.g. Apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent) Familiarity with metrology processes and continuous improvement methodologies Shift Patterns (Overtime available when required) Day Shift (no premium):
