About the roleTo prepare and cook food for the customers within the service, including considerations of specific dietary requirements and cultural considerations.
What you’ll be doing- Proactively approach the promotion of traditional values, demonstrating pride in the work and service delivery.
- Ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of vulnerable adults, young people and children in line with Safeguarding regulations.
- Attend all training courses and deliver on the outcomes.
- Any other duties as required by the role.
- Regularly monitor stock and equipment to ensure satisfactory levels are maintained.
- Ensure that the kitchen, kitchen equipment and dining room are clear, clean and tidy before, during and after service in order to meet the Food Standards Agency requirements.
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Apply a proactive approach in the promotion of traditional values, demonstrating pride in the work and service delivery.
- Ensure that the following are always adhered to:
- Food and Kitchen hygiene
- Health and Safety legislation and an understanding of COSHH (Control of substances hazardous to health)
- The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- The ability to prioritise and act on own initiatives.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Trained in Health and Safety, Food Safety and Food Hygiene.
- Experience of food preparation and cooking in a busy kitchen environment.
- Experience in maintaining high standards in food preparation and cleanliness.
