As a Relief Cook, you'll provide essential cover across the service, helping ensure residents continue to receive nutritious meals and excellent dining experiences whenever support is needed.
From preparing home-cooked favourites to catering for specialist dietary requirements, you'll play an important role in supporting residents' health, wellbeing and enjoyment.
What you will do- Prepare nutritious meals, snacks and refreshments
- Cater for a variety of dietary and nutritional needs
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
- Support menu planning and meal preparation
- Monitor food stocks and assist with stock control
- Ensure meals are presented to a high standard
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the service
You will have previous experience in a catering, hospitality or kitchen role and be confident preparing meals for larger groups. You'll be flexible, organised and committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. A Food Hygiene qualification is essential. A professional catering qualification would be advantageous.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
