Chef Manager, Wolverhampton:
Berkeley Scott seeks a temporary Chef Manager for agency roles in schools and contract catering sites across the city. Pay ranges from £18.00 to £24.00 per hour, depending on experience and the end employer, with holiday pay included. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, lead a catering team, and ensure fresh, high-quality food production in a busy setting. Suitable for an experienced Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior Chef, this position demands strong leadership, reliability, and culinary skill.

Working patterns vary by assignment. This role suits a passionate chef confident in running a kitchen and delivering excellent standards within education or contract catering.

Wolverhampton. Pay: £18.00-£24.00 per hour (depending on experience and end employer). Job Type: Agency.

The Role

As a Chef Manager, you'll take responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, hygiene and safety are maintained.

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality meals
  • Leading, motivating and supporting the kitchen team
  • Following menus, recipes and catering requirements
  • Managing stock, ordering and minimising food waste
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
  • Supporting the wider catering operation
  • Ensuring meals are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Creating a positive dining experience for students and staff
Key Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef
  • Experience leading or supervising a kitchen team
  • Contract catering or education catering experience is highly desirable
  • Food Safety Level 2 certificate
  • Food Allergen Awareness certificate
  • Good knowledge of food safety and allergen procedures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to confidently manage a busy kitchen
  • Reliable, professional and flexible approach
