Chef Manager - Schools & Contract Catering

Berkeley Scott are recruiting experienced Chef Managers for agency opportunities across Wolverhampton, working with schools and contract catering sites.

We're looking for reliable, experienced and passionate chefs who are confident running a kitchen, leading a team and producing fresh, high-quality food in a busy catering environment.

Whether you're an experienced Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef, this is a great opportunity to work within the education and contract catering sector.

The Role

As a Chef Manager, you'll take responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, hygiene and safety are maintained.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality meals
  • Leading, motivating and supporting the kitchen team
  • Following menus, recipes and catering requirements
  • Managing stock, ordering and minimising food waste
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
  • Supporting the wider catering operation
  • Ensuring meals are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Creating a positive dining experience for students and staff
Key Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef
  • Experience leading or supervising a kitchen team
  • Contract catering or education catering experience is highly desirable
  • Food Safety Level 2 certificate
  • Food Allergen Awareness certificate
  • Good knowledge of food safety and allergen procedures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to confidently manage a busy kitchen
  • Reliable, professional and flexible approach
