We are working with a fantastic business in the Midlands. They are expanding the team with a candidate who has a service or sales background and is looking to progress their career within an SME environment. Further training and guidance will be provided to support development.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth and supporting the diversification of industry sectors. A key focus will be expanding the customer base while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. The business is committed to continuous growth, staff retention, and delivering high-quality service to customers.
The Role
Work collaboratively as part of a team to convert leads generated through marketing activities and exhibitions
Proactively chase leads and develop key accounts
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Conduct customer site tours to support relationship building
Confidently carry out customer visits both on and off-site, including delivering company presentations at a corporate level, completing quality audits, and leading shop floor tours
Conduct market research and gather competitor intelligence
Negotiate and close sales opportunities
Liaise with internal engineering teams to ensure a smooth handover of new business projects
Develop a strong understanding of the customer base, with the ability to grow existing accounts and secure new customers
Manage and grow accounts with values of up to 2m
Communicate effectively with colleagues across all departments to resolve issues and relay customer feedback
Demonstrate confidence in customer-facing situations, both positive and challenging
Take a proactive approach to achieving sales targets, including customer visits, cold calls, emails, exhibitions, and travel as required
Complete sales reporting in line with business requirements
Deliver excellent end-to-end account management, from initial enquiry and quotation through to project handover
Provide strong after-sales care, including regular customer visits and ongoing telephone contact, with a focus on maximising account potential
