About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join our Children and Families Service in Wolverhampton. This is an exciting opportunity to work across early intervention and statutory social work, supporting children and families to achieve positive outcomes while ensuring children are safeguarded and protected.

You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative service, working closely with colleagues across Social Work Units, Children and Family Support Centers, and a range of partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high-quality and effective social work service to children and their families in line with statutory requirements.
  • Undertake holistic assessments of children’s needs, parenting capacity, and family/environmental factors.
  • Analyse and balance risk and protective factors within a robust child protection framework.
  • Develop and implement Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children care plans
    .
  • Provide focused, purposeful interventions with clear outcomes aimed at improving the lives of children.
  • Participate in the duty rota
    , responding to urgent and time-sensitive safeguarding concerns.
  • Produce clear, concise, and analytical written reports for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to referrals, contacts, and service user enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with statutory timescales.
  • Use research, legislation, and national guidance to inform high-quality social work practice.
  • Support the commissioning of services and use allocated budgets appropriately where required.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with children and families to promote engagement and positive change.
