HGV Class 1 Driver

HGV Class 1 Driver – Multi-Drop – Wolverhampton People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver – Multi-Drop to join our well-established client based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands (WV10) . This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a busy transport operation. This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, Commercial Driver, or Truck Driver.

Shifts
• Monday to Friday
• AM start times between 03:00 – 06:00 Rates of Pay • £17.00 per hour (Monday to Friday) Benefits As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will receive:

• Employee wellbeing programme Day-to-Day Duties As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:
• Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries (maximum two drops per shift)
• Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are safe and secure before departure
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading where required Essential Skills To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE (Class
1) Driving Licence
• A minimum of 24 months' Category CE driving experience
• A valid CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsement codes
• A good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and time management skills
• A strong understanding of road traffic legislation and vehicle safety
• Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience
• Multi-drop delivery experience
• Experience with in palletised or general haulage distribution Training Provided
• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
