Stitcher Operator

Position Overview

You will operate, set up, and perform routine maintenance on saddle stitchers and related equipment while helping the team meet daily production schedules with high quality and safety standards.

• Perform complete setup and operation of saddle stitchers and ancillary bindery equipment
• Review job tickets, interpret instructions, and select optimal stitching/finishing methods
• Run production jobs efficiently while monitoring quality and output
• Perform routine equipment maintenance (knife changes, stitch head adjustments, greasing, lubricating, etc.)
• Keep accurate production records, job tickets, and time sheets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all required quality control and safety procedures
• Notify the supervisor immediately of any machinery or material issues
• Assist in keeping stock and materials ready to avoid downtime
• Work cooperatively with team members and leads in other departments
• Perform other bindery duties as needed

• Proven hands‑on experience operating and setting up Heidelberg and/or Muller Martini saddle stitchers (or comparable equipment) –
  REQUIRED
• Working knowledge of shrink wrappers, wafer sealers, gluing, and mailing equipment
• Good math and measurement skills
• Ability to read and follow written job instructions for machine setup
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive safety attitude
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
