Tax Manager – Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) – Central & East Locations
EY invites potential candidates to apply for a Tax Manager role focused on Accounting Compliance & Reporting across Central and East locations.
Location: Chicago, New York City, Hoboken, Iselin, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Washington.
OverviewThe ACR practice helps clients manage global bookkeeping and finance compliance across 150+ countries. You will work to reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk, and drive process improvements in clients’ global finance operations.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Apply technical accounting knowledge to analyze account balances, reconciliations, and other financial matters during monthly, quarterly, or annual closes, validating accuracy and completeness.
- Follow up on deliverables, analyze preventing issues, and collaborate to problem‑solve resolutions to mitigate risk of late filing and other compliance tasks.
- Execute continuous improvement projects to enhance quality, visibility, efficiency, and client experience; analyze manual journal entries to identify eliminations or automation opportunities.
- Apply judgment in the resolution of accounting or process issues.
- Package analysis into presentations for internal leaders and clients to support decision making, including the statutory reporting compliance calendar.
- Use accounting knowledge to interpret statutory reporting or accounting matters, developing options for resolution in consultation with supervisors.
- Escalate accounting or reporting issues to management to maintain service delivery quality and timeliness.
- Manage individual performance while staying within budget and project scope.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business major, or equivalent experience.
- 3‑4 years of experience in accounting, compliance, or related roles.
- CPA license, membership to state Bar, or progression toward those certifications.
- Knowledge of global statutory reporting/bookkeeping, preferably across multiple countries.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; problem‑solving and attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and IT concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize engagement activities.
- Willingness to travel 20‑30% to client locations.
- Client‑facing experience in a global role.
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off. Base salary ranges from $90,300 to $165,400 in U.S. locations, with higher ranges for certain metros.
