This role is a full‑time, virtual position. Virtual work is the default; required in‑person training or onboarding sessions will be scheduled as needed. Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance unless a law‑mandated accommodation is granted.

The Clinical Operations Medical Director supports the medical management staff, ensuring timely and consistent medical decisions for members and providers. The primary focus is on radiation oncology clinical case reviews.

• Ensures timely completion of clinical case reviews for radiation oncology specialty.
• Makes physician‑to‑physician calls to gather medically appropriate information to determine medical necessity for requested services.
• Makes medical necessity determinations for grievance and appeals appropriate for the specialty.
• Ensures consistent use of company medical policies when making medical necessity decisions.
• Brings to supervisors case review decisions that require Medical Director review or policy interpretation.

• MD or DO with board certification in a relevant specialty (American Board of Medical Specialties or American Osteopathic Association).
• Active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with clinical case reviews for medical necessity; waived for Cardiology, Oncology, and Interventional Pain specialties if board certification exists.

• Board certified in Radiation Oncology strongly preferred.

• Fully virtual, may require occasional on‑site visits for onboarding; reasonable commuting distance required for in‑person sessions.
