Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Supervisor

As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee laboratory operations, ensure quality control, and coordinate staff activities. You will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing and analyzing samples, and adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture)
- Proven experience as a Lab Technician or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
- Supervise laboratory staff and activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Perform and oversee sample testing and analysis
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Manage inventory and supplies, and place orders when necessary
- Collaborate with other departments and researchers as needed
- Keep accurate records and prepare reports as required
- 5+ years of experience with laboratory testing of construction materials.
- 1+ year of experience in a supervisory role (preferred)
- Ability to pass drug and MVR screen.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Construction Technology, Construction Management or Related Engineering Field
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure, and working effectively in a high‑pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Able to use a company laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Organizational and multi‑tasking ability.
- A decent work ethic, diligence, and elevated level of personal integrity.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI)
Certifications: - Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level 1 or Concrete Strength Testing Technician (Required)
- Concrete Field‑Testing Technician – Grade 1 (required)
- Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level 2 (preferred)
- Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1 or 2 (preferred)
- Familiarity with Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS)
$25 - $35 hourly. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
