UX Designer / Senior UX Designer (Contract – Woodbridge, NJ)
Overview
We’re looking for a skilled UX Designer (mid to senior level) for a contract position based in Woodbridge, NJ. This individual will be instrumental in shaping user-centered experiences across web, eCommerce, and mobile platforms. The right candidate will bring at least five years of hands-on UX expertise, a strong background in prototyping and design system usage, and the ability to transform complex business requirements into intuitive, engaging solutions.
This role will partner closely with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver designs that are both accessible and impactful.
- Create and refine wireframes, clickable prototypes, and user journeys that solve intricate workflow challenges in eCommerce and digital service environments.
- Use Figma extensively to iterate on concepts and ensure alignment with established design systems for scalability.
- Develop UI components and visual assets that support branding guidelines and accessibility requirements.
- Plan and conduct usability testing, surveys, and interviews to better understand user needs and behaviors.
- Translate research findings into practical design improvements for both desktop and mobile, including React Native app interfaces.
- Work alongside product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure feasibility and shared understanding of design intent.
- Present concepts clearly, gather input, and refine based on team feedback.
- Facilitate design workshops and brainstorming sessions to encourage idea generation and consensus.
- Maintain design documentation such as style guides, component libraries, and specifications.
- Participate in QA reviews to verify design accuracy during development and implementation.
- Keep up with evolving UX tools, methods, and trends.
- Provide constructive critique and actively seek feedback to improve design quality and team effectiveness.
- 5+ years of UX design experience, with a focus on eCommerce or customer self-service platforms.
- Proficient in Figma for prototyping and applying design system standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated success in solving complex design challenges with user-centered solutions.
- Familiarity with accessibility principles and inclusive design practices.
