Role: BI Architect / Lead

Location:

Iselin, NJ (Hybrid) – 12‑month contract at Appex Innovations, a healthcare technology consultancy.

The BI Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable and efficient Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and modern data platforms. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data insights and visualizations.

• Design and implement end‑to‑end BI solutions using Tableau and Power BI.
• Develop semantic models, dashboards, and reports to support business decision‑making.
• Create and maintain data models, ETL pipelines, and data warehouses.
• Work with cross‑functional teams (finance, sales, operations) to gather requirements.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Mentor junior BI developers and analysts.

• 10+ years of experience in BI, data architecture, or analytics.
• Strong Power BI skills – semantic models, DAX, Paginated Reports, Q&A visual.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases (SQL Server, Postgre
  
  SQL, Oracle).
• Experience with ETL tools (Talend, Informatica) and data modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Big Query).
• Capital Markets experience and understanding of trading, risk data.
• Experience managing large report migrations and data warehousing.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Certifications in Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft Fabric preferred.
• Bonus:
  Python or R for data manipulation and AI/ML integration.

• 15+ years of experience with large report migrations.
• Experience with Cognos.
• Experience in Dev Ops for BI (Git, ALM Toolkit, Tabular Editor).
