Licensed Practical Nurse – Part Time

Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center, Avenel, NJ – 20 hours per week (full onsite).

Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a correctional environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Execute treatments, document care, and collaborate with healthcare professionals and security staff.

• Gather and record patient data related to health status and needs.
• Communicate relevant information to the RN for incorporation into the care plan.
• Deliver direct patient care within the scope of practice to ensure plan implementation.
• Educate patients and significant others about health, illness, and care plan.
• Assist patients and significant others in preparation for discharge and home health maintenance.
• Document all aspects of patient care.

• Valid NJ Licensed Practical Nurse registration.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license; own vehicle or reliable transportation required.
• At least 6 months experience in an acute hospital setting (preferred).
• Physical capacity to perform CPR for 10 minutes and lift/rotate patients up to 50 lbs.
• Approval from the Department of Corrections and adherence to DOC requirements.
