Overview
The Nurse Practitioner Leader/Navigator will function as a patient navigator for appropriate care at the Metropark outpatient facility. The NP will speak with non-referral patients to determine what specialist (ortho, neuro, pain, pmr, etc.) to see for care. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of clinical services and management of clinical and support staff. Responsible and accountable for daily operations to achieve best practice and organizational objectives.
The position's practice is characterized by comprehensive health assessments and management of acute complex patients' health problems. The Nurse Practitioner provides leadership and support to the overall area of specialty. Documents patient teaching, refers and communicates patient abnormalities to appropriate physicians, performs clinical procedures, serves as a resource for nursing and ancillary staff regarding patient and disease management, and facilitates practices in compliance with JCAHO requirements.
Minimum 5 years leadership experience required. Position hours are M-F, 8a-5:30pm.

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities – Required- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 5 years RN/Specialty experience.
- Minimum of 5 years leadership/administration experience.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the Nurse Practitioner role.
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
- Advance Practice Nurse License.
- Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification.
- Controlled Dangerous Substances Physician Certification.
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
