Field Sales Representative – Intermodal Logistics Job Type:

Full-time;
Remote

Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and conduct regular in-person meetings (target ~7 per week) with existing and prospective customers, prioritizing opportunities by need and geography.
  • Develop and execute structured sales plans (including territory planning and target setting) to achieve or exceed revenue goals. Adapt strategies based on market trends, competitor activity, and performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term customer relationships, understanding client needs and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities. Maintain existing accounts while also targeting new prospects.
  • Deliver engaging, tailored product demonstrations and sales presentations that clearly communicate the company’s solutions' value proposition. Highlight key features and benefits to address customer pain points and close deals.
  • Ability to participate in contract and pricing negotiations, securing deals that balance profitability with customer satisfaction. Use advanced negotiation skills to optimize pricing and deal terms while handling customer objections effectively.
  • Work closely with internal teams (marketing, operations, product development, customer support, etc.) to align sales efforts, gather customer feedback, and streamline processes. Provide field insights to help improve product offerings and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor industry and market trends (including intermodal and refrigerated logistics markets), track competitor activities, and analyze sales data. Use this information to identify new growth opportunities and refine sales approaches.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, customer interactions, and forecasts. Prepare and deliver regular sales performance reports and market insights to management.
  • Mentor and coach junior sales team members by sharing best practices, sales techniques, and industry knowledge. Help develop their skills and knowledge so the team can meet overall sales targets.
  • Act as a strategic liaison between field sales and senior management. Provide recommendations and insights from customer engagements to inform higher-level decision-making and resource allocation.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics or a related field preferred. Additional certifications (e.g. sales or logistics) are a plus.
  • 4+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or equipment leasing. Prior experience in intermodal logistics, trucking, depot operations or a related field is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth. Experience with long-term contracts and daily leases is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Advanced negotiation and closing abilities are required.
  • Comfortable with technology (CRM, Microsoft Office, especially Excel) and eager to adopt new tools. Experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Hub Spot) is a plus. Openness to implementing new CRM processes (planned for 2026) is expected.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation. Must be goal-driven with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet clients and conduct site visits local and out of state. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A collaborative mindset and willingness to share insights with colleagues and management.
