Production Technician (Lead Hand)

Job description:

Shift: 12-hour rotating continental shift

Work Location:

Woodbridge (Hwy 7 & Hwy 27 area)

$72,000-$78,000 yearly

SUMMARY

The Production Technician Lead Hand is a hands-on role that will be responsible for assigning all production and compounding efforts during assigned shift to ensure we meet Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and in implementing continuous improvement plans related to efficiency, quality and talent development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage a group of 30+ employees

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Must be able to do all set ups of product and tooling using proper procedures

Must assist operators with color changes, roll changes, screen changes etc.

Strictly Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times

Supervises, hires and directs hourly personnel and manufacturing operations assigned to their shift

Reviews production orders and schedules to makes constant decisions based on product data such as types, quantities, specifications, schedules, logistics and plans operations accordingly

Assigns duties to all shift members and ensures that production schedule will be completed

Conducts safety checks

provide technical leadership to shift personnel, to include: line setup/operation, metrics definition/reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and training facilitation

Ensure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment to dictate. Assist Operators with color changes

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) an asset

Lean Manufacturing experience is required. Six Sigma Yellow Belt

Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience; preferably in extrusion

Experience in material control, engineering, compounding, quality and maintenance

Strong communication skills. Self-directed and able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Quarterly Incentive Bonus: up to 8% eligibility

Annual Discretionary Bonus: up to 5% eligibility

Company Match of up to 5%, plus Annual Retirement Contribution of 2% of eligible earnings. Contributions are vested after 2 years of service.
