The Office of Human Resources is seeking an innovative and collaborative HR leader to serve as Assistant Director of Human Resources

About This Role:The Assistant Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership, oversight, and operational direction for key enterprise-facing HR functions, including Organizational Development, Training, and HR Outreach. Reporting to the HR Director, this role operates as a senior HR leader, balancing long-term strategy with operational excellence, fiscal stewardship, and collaboration, and plays a critical role in advancing workforce capability, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and the Office of Human Resources’ visibility and impact across the organization.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Leading enterprise-wide organizational development and training initiatives
- Overseeing HR outreach, communications, and engagement programs
- Providing strategic and fiscal oversight of HR programs and budget
- Managing and developing managers and professional staff
- Partnering with departments and leadership on workforce and culture initiatives
- Strong leadership experience managing managers and complex programs
- Expertise in organizational development, training, or workforce initiatives
- Strategic thinking balanced with operational execution
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
High School Diploma and eight (8) years of related experience overseeing organizational development, training, or workforce development programs
Preferences:2 years or more supervision experience, background and experience in Organizational Development; demonstrated HR-related facilitation experience, Experience in managing HR Outreach initiatives
Special Requirements :The selected candidate’s offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation, which includes a Criminal History Check, I-9 and E-Verify requirements. The selected candidate will also be required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest form in accordance with Va. Code §§ 2.2-3114, 2.2-3115, and 2.2-3116.
Work Schedule:37.5 Hours per week
Hiring Salary Range:$ to $155,000
