About This Role: As a Lead HVAC Installer you are the leader of your install team. Once instruction has been given by our Installation Manager, you are responsible for instructing your team and executing a professional install job. You will work hands on with your crew while installing a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. It is your job to make sure the installation is done properly, safely, and to the high standards of Michael Bonsby HVAC & Plumbing, all while providing excellent customer service.
About You:
- You have 5+ years of field experience and are looking for an opportunity to grow and be better supported
- You like to get the job done right the first time
- A strong communicator and a natural at explaining basic maintenance suggestions to customers
- You enjoy training and mentoring apprentices
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential customers
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC, air conditioning and ventilation units
- Maintain proper inventory, parts, tools, and knowledge in using appropriate safety equipment in the vehicle
- Mentor and train apprentices on the job and provide them with learning opportunities
- Diagnose service issues, obtain replacement parts, calibrate systems to manufacturer’s recommendations
- Provide excellent customer service to resolve technical, logistical, and scheduling issues
- Perform quality work with honesty and diligence and follow company procedures and values
- 5+ years of field experience
- Active Driver’s License
- Tech Savvy – ability to use tablets and learn work-related software with ease
- Verifiable experience to develop quotations for repairs and installations of replacement equipment
- Analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals
- Proven ability in installing, replacing, and servicing HVAC systems in new residential and commercial properties
- Willingness to work weekends (Saturdays) or on-call shifts when needed
- Safety is the primary focus; general knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA requirements
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, use hands to operate controls; hear and talk
- Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs
- Work environment can vary; employees may work outdoors throughout the seasons
