Job Summary

Responsible for the coordination and supervision of warehouse activities, including receiving, transporting, stacking, order filling, shipping, and maintaining product inventory. Perform shift‑specific tasks and manage workflows that ensure timely distribution of inbound/outbound product while meeting the day‑to‑day business needs of our stores.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the set‑up and execution of labor needed to accomplish shift operations. Assign job responsibilities based on employee seniority and qualifications while meeting productivity standards. Handle reassignment, overtime scheduling, and address productivity issues.
  • Monitor receiving and unloading of inbound shipments. Ensure procedures are followed, including product count, item code verification, damage/infestation/shelf‑life checks, and temperature checks on receipt.
  • Review loading of product to meet guidelines for delivery sequence, weight distribution on axle groups, and product integrity.
  • Monitor stacking, order selection, pallet height, product combinations, order breaks, and outbound shipment stability, labeling, etc.
  • Apply sound communication techniques when coaching, developing, and motivating employees. Document sub‑standard performance and communicate issues to supervisor.
  • Perform warehouse tours as needed; identify and address issues and remain available to employees.
  • Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements, company working conditions, wage agreements and policy guidelines in daily operations.
  • Assist with record and report administration; calculate and input operational data such as labor hours and job codes to summarize productivity and payroll.
  • Ensure safety standards are upheld and compliance is maintained. Keep warehouse neat, report hazards, and coordinate emergency evacuations as needed.
  • Investigate employee injuries or incidents, identify causes, determine preventative measures, and communicate findings.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of host, PC, and internet‑based software applications (Microsoft Office).
  • Proficiency with numerical data and calculations.
Ability To
  • Apply knowledge of material handling practices and warehousing standards.
  • Apply knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
  • Utilize excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, self‑direction, and strong time‑management skills.

Education and Experience

College degree or substantial responsible experience – minimum one year in warehouse distribution preferred.
