Job OverviewThe Woodburn Police Department is hiring Entry Level Police Officers to perform law enforcement duties including:
Officers may also be assigned to specialized units or teams within the department.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be at least 21 years old at hire
- U.S. citizen or able to become one within 18 months
- Pass competitive testing (reading, writing, physical, vision, hearing, psychological)
- Pass pre-employment drug test and background check
- Willing to work overtime, including holidays and weekends
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to complete recruit training and obtain Basic Certification from Oregon Board of Public Safety Standards and Training (pass ORPAT within required time frames)
- Valid Oregon Class C driver’s license or out-of-state equivalent with acceptable record
- Bilingual in Spanish/English or Russian/English
- Post-secondary education in criminal justice, public or business administration, sociology, psychology, or related fields
- Completed and current physical fitness tests (ORPAT/PAT/Military Physical Fitness)
Candidates must meet Oregon's minimum standards for law enforcement officers and pass background checks as per OAR
