Position: Bilingual Crisis Clinician 2 (Underfill)

This position provides crisis assessments to a variety of individuals within Marion County and surrounding communities. It actively engages with the population to provide risk assessments, case management, skills training, and resources with the goal of assisting individuals to have a higher quality of life. Specifically, this role offers opportunities to engage and support the Latino community through the Behavioral Health Crisis Center, in identifying services and resources that will support and empower individuals in the community.

This position provides services to monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals; therefore, fluent bilingual Spanish/English skills are required.

Wages: Crisis Clinician 1: $29.54 - $39.58 hr. Crisis Clinician 2: $35.83 - $48.00 hr.

General Statement of Duties

Crisis Clinician 2:
Provide assessments and treatment of individuals and families, including groups; provides crisis assessment and intervention services and related duties as required. Primary responsibility is to provide assessment and treatment services, crisis intervention, and treatment services, including intensive services, to individuals and their families with complex needs and diagnoses and/or to develop and implement specific services in the community.

Crisis Clinician 1:
Plans and carries out recreational, social and skills training activities; performs case management and counseling functions with Adults in Custody (AIC); facilitates counseling and/or skills training groups; performs related duties as required. Primary responsibility is case management and counseling, without responsibility for developing and implementing specific programs in the community.

Works under the supervision of a supervisor who assigns work, establishes goals, and reviews the results obtained for overall effectiveness.

Supervision of others is not a responsibility of these positions. Crisis Clinician 2 may act as Clinical Supervisor designee when needed. May assist in the supervision of practicum students and/or volunteers.

Responsibilities
  • Crisis Assessments and Treatment Planning
    • Provide crisis assessment and/or crisis intervention with individuals who come into the Behavioral Health Crisis Center and respond to the community to meet with individuals for these services. Utilize evidence-based practices as clinically indicated, including CBT, DBT, SFBT, CAMS, CPI, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
    • Work locations may include Salem BHCC, Woodburn BHCC, and community settings. Driving is required.
    • Provide psychotherapy to individuals by telephone.
    • Engage with individual families, including children, to provide resources and support.
    • Perform independent assessment of mental status, diagnosis, level of functioning, dangerousness, and specific needs for service. Screen individuals for psychiatric hospitalization.
    • Work with individuals to create safety/crisis plans and conduct suicide and self-harm risk assessments.
  • Case Management & Consultation
    • Determine individual service needs and appropriateness of services.
    • Develop a plan with the individual/family to address immediate needs and plans to obtain services. If an individual is unwilling to seek services, make decisions regarding involuntary commitment based on dangerousness and ability to care for self.
    • Provide minimal case management, including community-based services, referrals, and coordination with other agencies to obtain services, benefits, and entitlements.
    • Provide case-specific consultation to other providers and community partners.
    • Determine whether crisis respite is an appropriate resource.
    • Work with Microsoft Teams to delegate tasks that assist individuals in receiving services at BHCC and in the community.
    • Maintain current knowledge of, and contact with, community agencies to refer appropriately. Ensure clients gain access to needed services and perform follow-up as needed.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation per federal, state, county, and program requirements under the direction of a clinical supervisor.
    • Meet performance expectations for time and billing.
    • Complete Crisis ISP/Multi-disciplinary Treatment Plans as required by referrals.
    • Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to maintain documentation.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Work with a team of clinicians and clinical supervisors for supervision, treatment planning, staff and departmental meetings, and training.
    • Collaborate with team members and assist with other BHCC teams/programs as needed.
    • May serve as team leader and represent the agency on internal or external committees.
