About

The Role

As an Automotive Class A Technician in our Service department, you will perform high-level diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicles, with a strong emphasis on Chevrolet models. This is an hourly, flat-rate, incentive-based role designed for an experienced technician who can independently handle complex repair work including engine and transmission repairs. You will work closely with service advisors and fellow technicians to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality service that meets both manufacturer standards and customer expectations.

What You'll Do
  • Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on a wide range of automotive systems, with a focus on Chevrolet vehicles
  • Handle complex repairs including, but not limited to, engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and major driveline work
  • Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify current and potential issues, ensuring all safety and performance standards are met
  • Interpret work orders and technical service bulletins to determine repair procedures and required parts
  • Use manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment, tools, and software to identify and resolve vehicle issues accurately
  • Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs in accordance with OEM and dealership policies
  • Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates, timelines, and technical explanations for recommended services
  • Document all work performed, test results, and parts used in a clear and detailed manner within the repair order
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety protocols and shop procedures
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay current with evolving Chevrolet and general automotive technologies
  • Assist and mentor less-experienced technicians when needed, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional automotive technician experience
  • Master or Class A Technician certification (ASE Master or equivalent)
  • Proven Chevrolet repair experience in a dealership or qualified independent shop setting
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, steering, suspension, and braking
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and technical reference materials
  • Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins in English
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Physical ability to safely lift automotive components and work in a shop environment for extended periods
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to work under an hourly and flat-rate, incentive-based pay structure
