In this role, you’ll handle complex structural and cosmetic repairs, accurately assess damage, and contribute to high-quality repair planning and execution. You will work in an incentive-based environment with hourly and flat-rate pay structures, and may be eligible for a sign-on bonus based on experience and certification level.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled, Class A or Master-level technician who takes pride in delivering safe, precise, and manufacturer-compliant repairs.

What You'll Do
  • Perform advanced structural, frame, and cosmetic body repairs on a wide range of vehicles in accordance with OEM and industry standards.
  • Inspect vehicles to accurately identify damage and develop comprehensive repair plans.
  • Collaborate with estimators and service advisors on the estimate process, including supplement identification and documentation.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles to facilitate detailed damage analysis and proper repair sequencing.
  • Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and measuring systems to ensure precise repairs and proper vehicle alignment.
  • Perform repairs involving metal straightening, panel replacement, plastic repair, and corrosion protection.
  • Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards prior to final delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and labor hours for incentive-based and flat-rate pay.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of shop tools and equipment.
  • Support and mentor less-experienced body technicians by sharing best practices and technical expertise.
  • Communicate clearly with the Body Shop team regarding repair status, parts needs, and any repair plan changes.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving vehicle technologies, materials, and repair methods.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Body Shop Technician, with demonstrated success in complex collision repair work.
  • Class A or Master Body Shop Technician certification (or equivalent proven experience at a Class A level).
  • I-CAR Certification (current or in progress, with willingness to complete required levels).
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle body structures, materials, and repair techniques, including frame and unibody repair.
  • Proven experience with the full body shop repair process, including disassembly, damage analysis, repair, refinish coordination, and reassembly.
  • Experience with the estimate process and collaboration with estimators/service advisors on repair planning.
  • Ability to interpret repair orders, OEM procedures, structural measurement data, and technical service information.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with body shop tools, welding equipment, and measuring systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and accuracy in all repairs.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently in an hourly and flat-rate, incentive-based environment.
