Accounting Supervisor

Purpose Brands, LLC is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join its Finance Team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-growing, consumer-centric, multi-unit organization and to contribute to strategic and operational initiatives supporting brand growth.

Summary

The Accounting Supervisor reports directly to the Controller and plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across designated companies within Self Esteem Brands.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly close process, ensuring all costs are properly recorded, journal entries are reviewed and posted, account reconciliations are completed, and reports are prepared accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts each period; identify and correct accounting errors.
  • Prepare detailed journal entries, account analyses, and monthly adjusting entries.
  • Review general ledger expense postings, accruals, and budget-to-actual variances; research and explain significant variances.
  • Produce standardized monthly internal reporting and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
  • Support year‑end audit and tax schedules in coordination with the Controller and external auditors.
  • Oversee accounting operations, including transaction processing, control systems, and policies and procedures.
  • Manage accounts receivable, collections, fixed asset tracking, sales commission calculations, and other core accounting functions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and GAAP.
  • Co‑manage and mentor 1–3 direct reports across accounting and accounts payable.
  • Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings, set annual goals, and support professional development of team members.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and business practices.
  • Participate in strategic financial projects, system upgrades, and process redesign.
  • Design and enhance financial analyses and reporting for executive leadership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts as requested.
  • Partner with internal teams and business leaders to support accurate reporting and financial understanding.
  • Respond to franchisee questions and provide coaching on financial matters and performance metrics.
  • Train internal franchise consultants on financial results and brand performance indicators.
Background Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred).
  • CPA license or actively pursuing certification (preferred).
  • 6–10 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
  • 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in middle‑market, multi‑unit, and/or consumer‑focused industries preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.

Salary Range

$105k - $125k

Work Schedule

Hybrid Work Model:
Remote optional Wednesdays and Fridays;
On‑site days Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at Boca Raton (FL), Woodbury (MN), and Seattle (WA) offices.
