Speech Therapist (Speech-Language Pathologist – SLP)

Location: Woodbury, New Jersey

Contract Term: March 1, 2026 – February 28, 2027 (1 Year)

Work Arrangement: Onsite – Regular Resident Care Sessions & Required Meetings

Speech Therapist (SLP) to provide communication and swallowing disorder interventions to residents at Shady Lane Nursing Home
. The SLP will perform diagnostic evaluations, develop individualized therapy plans, and work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance and optimal resident outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Clinical & Communication Therapy
  • Perform speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments upon admission, quarterly, and as needed.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing safety.
  • Participate in resident care conferences and collaborate with nursing and dietary staff for safe feeding protocols.
  • Document therapy activities and progress through the Sigma Care System.
  • Attend fall meetings, quarterly rehab team meetings, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Provide education and in-services to staff on communication strategies and swallowing precautions.
Compliance & Coordination
  • Maintain and update resident therapy documentation per state and federal regulations.
  • Notify the Administrator/Director of Nursing of any staffing or service changes impacting care.
  • Adhere to all NJ and federal regulations governing speech therapy practice in long-term care.
Education & Qualifications
  • Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the State of New Jersey (Required)
  • Active Malpractice Insurance (Required)
  • Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings
  • Familiarity with Sigma Care or equivalent documentation systems
  • Strong knowledge of swallowing safety and communication disorder treatment
