Overview
Freight/Receiving role at The Home Depot. Associates ensure the store is stocked and ready for business every day. They load and unload trucks, move material from the receiving area throughout the store, may operate forklifts, and may perform critical functions for maintaining proper on-hands and pricing for customers. Direct customer interaction is frequently required for some positions, and excellent customer service skills are required.
The Freight/Receiving roles may include Freight Team Associate, Freight Team Lead, Receiving Associate and Receiving Support.
- Load and unload trucks and move material from receiving to appropriate areas of the store.
- Operate forklifts where applicable and maintain accurate on-hand inventory and pricing.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with customers.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and operate warehouse equipment as needed.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience in freight/receiving or retail operations is preferred but not always required.
