About The Role

The Sr. Manager, PMO plays a key leadership role in ensuring the successful delivery of cross‑functional initiatives that enable our product development, operational efficiency, and business growth. This role leads a team of project managers, establishes scalable project governance practices, and partners with Precor leadership to align priorities, standardize execution, and maintain transparency across the project portfolio.

A successful candidate is a strategic thinker and strong people leader who thrives in matrixed environments, brings operational discipline, and can translate technical and business objectives into actionable plans that drive results.

Responsibilities Department & People Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, providing coaching, performance management, and ongoing skills development.
  • Build a high‑performing Project Management function that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with functional managers on resource allocation across projects, balancing capacity, business priorities, and team member development.
  • Define department goals, operating rhythms, and KPIs to ensure consistent, predictable delivery across the organization.
  • Champion a culture of transparency, communication, and disciplined execution.
Cross‑Functional Program & Project Leadership
  • Lead multiple complex, cross‑functional programs from concept through delivery, partnering closely with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functions.
  • Work with leadership to align on project objectives, success criteria, schedules, and resourcing.
  • Build, maintain, and communicate integrated program and project plans, including key milestones, dependencies, risk assessments, and deliverables.
Project Portfolio Management & Governance
  • Manage Precor’s project intake, prioritization, and approval processes to ensure alignment with business strategy and available resources.
  • Maintain the enterprise‑level project portfolio, providing clear visibility into status, progress, risks, and cross‑functional impacts.
  • Establish and enforce consistent project management methodologies, templates, processes, and tools.
Risk, Issue, and Change Management
  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and issues across programs; drive mitigation plans and escalate when necessary.
  • Ensure controlled and transparent handling of changes to scope, schedule, or resources, including clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross‑team problem solving to resolve complex issues impacting cost, schedule, or product integrity.
Operational & Strategic Contribution
  • Collaborate with Precor leadership on annual planning, initiative prioritization, and long‑term project roadmap development.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Manufacturing to ensure efficient coordination throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Improve organizational maturity by designing and implementing operational frameworks, playbooks, and PMO best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging feedback loops, retrospectives, and performance metrics to optimize delivery.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of project or program management experience, ideally within product development, hardware, manufacturing, or technology environments.
  • 3+ years leading a project management team or managing other project managers.
  • Proven track record delivering complex, cross‑functional programs in matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to align executives, influence partners, and drive clarity in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on problem‑solving and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including crafting executive‑level reporting.
  • Expertise with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and tools for planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to balance long‑term strategic thinking with hands‑on day‑to‑day execution.

Pay Range: $167,000 to $182,000
