Instruct Mat Pilates classes for YMCA members at the Y at the Carol Edwards Center in Woodinville.

Job Summary

Instruct Mat Pilates classes for YMCA members.

Shift Information

Teaching 2 days out of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The time will be 10‑11 am class, arrive at 9:45 am and stay until 11:15 am for member engagement, set up, and clean up.

Hiring Range

$20.76 – $24.20/hour DOE. Instructors are paid for class time, as well as the 15 minutes before and after a class.

Responsibilities
  • Plan for and instruct wellness/fitness and/or related classes following Association standards and guidelines. Observe and discuss individual progress with participants.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants and facilitate relationships among participants and members. Provide motivational support and guidance.
  • Increase participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors.
  • Encourage involvement and identify potential volunteers.
  • Set up and take down class equipment. Report equipment problems.
  • Attend staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
  • Ensure safe and effective workouts. Respond to, and report, accidents and incidents.
  • Accurately maintain related records.
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Twenty‑five hours of practical experience as fitness class instructor, or equivalent.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • Ability to set up, move and store class equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current state‑approved first aid certification.
  • Current state‑approved CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.
  • Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
  • YMCA Healthy Lifestyles Principles, Foundations of YMCA Group Exercise, or previous YMCA or outside certification.
  • Listen First Level I and II training within 30 days of employment or at first available training.
  • Within 90 days of employment or at first available training.

Branch operational hours that may include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
