Role Description
The Preschool Director role at the YMCA of Superior California is a full‑time on‑site position located in Sacramento, CA. The Director will manage daily operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and a safe, nurturing environment for children. Responsibilities include overseeing curriculum implementation, supervising staff, managing budgets, and engaging with families to build strong partnerships. The Director will also lead recruitment, training, and continued development of teaching staff to deliver high‑quality early childhood education programs.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and curriculum development
- Strong organizational, administrative, and budgeting skills
- Proven leadership abilities, including staff supervision, mentorship, and professional development
- Effective communication and relationship‑building skills with families, staff, and stakeholders
- Experience with licensing regulations and compliance in childcare or joaloeducational settings
- Proficiency in planning and implementing high‑quality, age‑appropriate learning programs
- Meets the qualifications for a CTC Site Supervisor permit or the equivalent
YMCA will pay permit fees if all qualifications are met.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hiring
- Familiarity with the mission and values of the YMCA is a plus
