The County of Yolo District Attorney's Office is recruiting to fill a limited term position, set to expire on 12/31/2026, in the Deputy District Attorney class series. The position will be assigned to the Criminal Unit as a Deputy District Attorney I/II/III/IV, depending on the selected candidate's experience.

The current salary range for the Deputy District Attorney III/IV classification levels are as follows; however, a 6.44% equity and 2.0% COLA adjustments are anticipated:

Deputy District Attorney III: $124,883 - $151,819 Annually
Deputy District Attorney IV: $146,640 - $178,256 Annually

Eligibility Note
  • In addition to filling the advertised vacancy, successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list that may be utilized to fill future vacancies as they occur.
  • The District Attorney's Office participates in Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Deputy District Attorney III

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the practice of law;
One (1) year of experience as journey-level attorney in any county in the State of California or at least one (1) year of experience at a prosecutor's office in the United States.

License: Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Deputy District Attorney IV

Experience: Four (4) years experience in the practice of law or three (3) years experience as an attorney with the County of Yolo.

Licensure: Active membership in the State Bar of California.

Special Requirement: Attorneys assigned to “special services” legal work must have one (1) year of experience in general civil law or in the civil and criminal prosecution of consumer or environmental law.

Driver's License for both levels: Some positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties.
