CDL Truck Driver, Container Delivery

Pay: $25.50/Hour

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, Shift starts at 5:30AM, Full‑Time

The Driver Container safely operates a heavy‑duty crane‑mounted truck and is responsible for loading, transporting, and retrieving material containers to and from customer locations. Drivers must navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, high‑traffic roadways, and tight overhead environments. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential.

• Operate vehicle in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all local, municipal, state, and federal laws.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and document checks on standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
• Immediately report any unsafe situations or service‑related issues to the Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Participate in scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings required by WM or Operations Manager.
• Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, street or alleyway obstructions, or potential safety hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Complete and submit customer tickets as required.
• Complete site evaluations to ensure locations are conducive to safe and proper servicing.
• Position and/or return container on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids and/or doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and the check‑out process.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

• Experience:
  
  One (1) year(s) of relevant work experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Hold a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment DOT drug screen and DOT physical.
• Complete classroom training and demonstrate safe crane operation (some states may require certification).
• None required for other knowledge, skills, or abilities.

• Use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
• Exert physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently.
• Require pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 pounds, and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds on wheels.
• Normal setting is outdoors and/or driving a vehicle monitored by video/GPS.
• Exposure to physical environment involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.
