Millwright - Pulp/Paper
Join PIC-Precision Industrial as a Millwright with experience in paper/pulp operations.
Responsibilities- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for repair, installation, or transportation.
- Installation and/or decommissioning of equipment/machinery.
- Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
- Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance to avoid contamination or safety hazards.
- Use a wide range of hand tools including measuring tools, welding, and torch cutting.
- Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when moving and installing equipment.
- Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Dismantle machinery or equipment, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
- Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools.
- Construct foundations for machines, using hand tools and building materials such as wood cement and steel.
- Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, and plumb bobs.
- Assemble machinery, bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fasten them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
- Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment.
- Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to load weight and size.
- Attach load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook.
- Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
- Direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment.
- Perform additional duties of general laborer, skilled laborer, carpenter, and possibly electrician.
- Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation to get to and from jobsites.
- Coordinate eye-hand movements.
- Use hands and fingers fully; reach, manipulate, and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Climb and maintain body balance on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures; see and hear well.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time.

- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Follow instructions and read blueprints.
- Visualize flat drawings as solid objects.
- Work at heights without fear.
- Use logical step-by-step procedures.
- Plan work and solve problems.
- Make decisions based on measurable information.
- Perform a variety of duties which may change frequently.
- Operate machinery.
