Overview
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ), Front Office.
As a Physician, referred to here as a Regional Medical Officer (GS-0602-15), you will serve as a physician and a resource to the management team and as a cross‑functional authority.
QualificationsALL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
To qualify for the GS‑15, you must demonstrate five (5) years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
Experience:
Graduate teaching experience as a member of the faculty in a school of medicine or school of public health may be credited for training positions or as appropriate for specialist positions. Teaching undertaken as a part of a residency or fellowship training does not satisfy this requirement. Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social), is also considered.
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Selective Placement Factor Requirement
In addition to the qualifications listed above, you must possess an active Board Certification in a recognized medical specialty, which must be maintained throughout the duration of the appointment.
