Target Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for analyzing complex business and system requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications, and leading validation and testing activities for large-scale enterprise systems. This role supports mission‑critical healthcare, government, and financial applications, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and high‑quality delivery across Agile and SDLC environments.

• Analyze and document business, functional, and technical requirements for enterprise systems
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications using UML and workflow models
• Conduct gap and impact analysis for system enhancements and regulatory changes
• Lead validation efforts for batch and online systems, including system, integration, regression, and UAT
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices
• Manage defects and test execution using Quality Center/Test Director
• Analyze and resolve mainframe batch issues, including JCL abends and performance problems
• Execute and monitor batch jobs using CONTROL‑M in z/OS environments
• Validate data integrity across DB2, Oracle, Teradata, and SQL Server databases
• Write and execute complex SQL queries for data and ETL validation
• Support HIPAA‑compliant healthcare systems, including Medicaid and Medicare applications
• Validate EDI/X12 transactions (837, 835, 276, 277, 270, 271)
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using QTP/UFT
• Collaborate with business, development, testing, and DBA teams to ensure successful releases
• Document test results, defects, and validation artifacts; prepare status and quality reports

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

• 15+ years of experience in Business/System Analysis, Validation, Testing, and QA
• Strong experience with SDLC, RUP, and Agile (SCRUM) methodologies
• Proven experience supporting healthcare, government, or large enterprise systems

• Mainframe: JCL, TSO, ISPF, MVS, z/OS, CONTROL‑M
• Databases: DB2, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server
• Testing Tools:
  Quality Center/Test Director, QTP/UFT
• Modeling & Requirements: UML, Rational Requisite Pro, MS Visio
• Languages:
  
  COBOL, PL/SQL, SQL, VBScript

• Healthcare claims processing and Medicaid/Medicare systems
• HIPAA compliance and EDI X12 transactions
• Data warehousing and ETL validation

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
