Payroll Specialist

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our accounting team at our Woodridge, Illinois office. As a payroll specialist, your key responsibility is to make sure that everyone receives their pay on time and without any errors.

• Prepare and process weekly multi-state union and non-union payroll.
• Process layoff checks.
• Process new hire paperwork/updating employee records while keeping strict confidentiality.
• Coordinate with field superintendents and employees to assure accuracy and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Assist with expense and Per diem reimbursement.
• Monthly union reporting and maintenance of union files as needed for rate and benefit changes.
• Prepare and maintain various statistical reports.
• Certified Payroll, governmental & OCIP/CCIP insurance reporting
• Assist with quarterly payroll tax filings, W-2’s preparation, and year end processing.
• Assist with union audits.
• Additional tasks as required by the role.

• Construction industry experience is preferred.
• A positive disposition with an ability to work in teams.
• An eagerness to learn and grow in the position.
• Self-motivation with a desire to assume more responsibility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Excel and Word.
