Home Run Inn is looking for an energetic team member to join our Finance and Accounting team.
Role Primary
Purpose:
The Plant Controller will provide leadership for the plants’ financial operations and is a key business partner to the operations team. The position requires a broad business perspective and fundamental skills to manage financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, product costing, fixed assets, inventory, and continuous improvement methodology. We are currently going through an ERP implementation, switching to Microsoft Business Central, and a successful candidate should have 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Business Central or a similar environment.

Key Responsibilities- Direct the reporting and analysis of the Plant’s financial performance to budget on a monthly basis, validate the inventory records are accurate for all plant inventory movements
- Plant and line performance monitoring and control, assure proper leading and lagging metrics are in place to measure performance.
- Provide advice to plant management on areas of cost saving initiatives
- Provide leadership and direction in investigating and understanding all major manufacturing variances to ensure timely, actionable information to management
- Provide ad hoc analytical support to report operational results in a manner which meets management’s need to make timely decisions, including results which are explained in terms of the facilities’ planned goals and objectives
- Provide analysis and leadership in business development such as margin improvement initiatives
- Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner
- Forecasting, budgeting and planning of operational costs
- Lead and direct the preparation and presentation of annual budgets and quantitative standards
- Develop an in-depth annual view of direct labor, indirect labor, variable overhead, and fixed overhead
- Develop a month to month forecast and other forward‑looking analysis as required
- Review capital projects requested by Plant staff for adequate clarity of justification, consistent with the facilities’ planned direction for investment of capital resources
- Act as a resource for capital related questions throughout the capital project preparation process
- Provide analysis for business growth and margin improvements
- Serve as subject matter expert for ERP modules across finance and operations
- Analyze system workflows, security, and integration points to optimize performance
- Stay current on ERP updates, patches, and new functionality to recommend opportunities for improvement
- Support ERP upgrades and implementations by assessing impact and developing transition strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required, advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing or related finance experience required
- 3+ years of finance and operational leadership in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced Excel skill and the ability to create or maintain financial models
- Experience with Business Central
- Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.

- Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.
- Position located primarily in an office environment and may require visits to production and warehouse area, which will require a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40 °F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.
- Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs.
