We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a growing team in Utah. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting specialist who is comfortable managing a broad range of day-to-day financial activities and can step into a hands-on role with confidence. The position centers on accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations, with a strong need for accuracy, organization, and dependable follow-through.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Manage customer invoicing, post incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances to support healthy cash flow.
• Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining accurate financial data within the accounting system.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies through timely research and documentation.
• Support routine accounting operations by maintaining organized records and assisting with month-end close activities.
• Use Microsoft Excel to analyze financial information, build reports, and work with tools such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal team members to address billing questions, payment issues, and account-related concerns.
