Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Our client is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Controller to join their growing team. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in accounting who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager for upward progression.

This is a unique opportunity to support a diverse range of clients, and play a critical role in automating financial processes. You will work closely with owners, contributing to strategic decision-making and ensuring timely and accurate financial statements that drive business outcomes. If you are currently a Manager in Public Accounting looking to transition into industry or if you started your career in public accounting and are currently working in industry looking to step-up into a Controller role then this could be a great opportunity for you.

The company has offices in Tillsonburg (head office) and London Ontario. This is an in-office opportunity

What our client has to offer:

• Competitive salary range of $110,000 to $140,000
• Up to 15% discretionary bonus based on profit sharing

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support month-end and year-end close for the organization
• Manage working capital and develop strong financial processes
• Automate systems and financial processes utilizing AI tools
• Review financials with external auditors
• Analyze and explain variances

Qualifications:

• CPA designation is required.
• Ideally looking for a manager level in public accounting, looking to move into industry OR someone who started their career in public accounting who has moved into industry and is now looking for a step-up to a Controller role
• Experience in interfacing and automating books.
• Familiarity with AI tools and bots
• Experience with system conversions or level-setting accounting systems
• Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, and able to wear many hats.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
