Summer Student - Assistant Lifeguard Instructor

Summer Student - Assistant Lifeguard/Instructor Town of Tillsonburg is looking for four (4) responsible Assistant Lifeguard/Instructors to provide instructional assistance for Aquatic Programming provided to all ages, safeguarding of all patrons while swimming and assisting with health and safety requirements and emergency response.

This is a seasonal student position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined benefit pension plan. Department:

June 1, 2026 - September 2, 2026 Hourly Rate: $17.60/hour Weekly

Responsibilities To provide assistant instruction in the current Tillsonburg Community Centre Aquatic Programs To endeavor at all times to work as a team with supervisors and fellow staff members To understand and follow all emergency procedures and sue of emergency equipment To attend all staff training sessions and staff meetings To interact with members of the public in a helpful and respectful manner To be familiar with all swimming programs and provide accurate and current information to the public Proven track record of reliability, professionalism and good work ethic Performs other related duties as required and designated by the Aquatics Supervisor Qualifications Bronze Cross Certification Standard First Aid + CPR Availability to work after school, evenings, and weekends.

Must be returning to school in the fall.

The interview process for aquatic positions will include two components:
Virtual Behavioural Interview Conducted online.

Evaluates communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Provides an opportunity to discuss past experiences and situational responses.

Wet Interview (If successful in the initial step) Conducted in the pool.

Required for both new and returning staff.

Focuses on demonstrating practical skills, safety procedures, and in-water competency.
