Our client is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of internal logistics and material flow within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring inventory accuracy, efficient material movement, compliance with industry standards, and cross-functional team leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong process-driven logistics expertise, analytical skills, and proven experience mentoring teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and optimize internal material flow from receiving through production and finished goods staging.
- Lead logistics teams across shifts, ensuring accurate inventory management, cycle counts, and timely material availability to support production.
- Develop, monitor, and report on logistics KPIs to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate backlogs.
- Collaborate closely with production, planning, quality, and procurement to resolve material shortages and expedite challenges.
- Implement and maintain SAP (or similar ERP) processes to improve inventory accuracy and streamline logistics operations.
- Mentor, train, and cross-train logistics staff to ensure flexibility, efficiency, and coverage across all logistics functions.
- Ensure compliance with TS/IATF 16949 standards and other regulatory/quality requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve systemic issues affecting material flow, inventory accuracy, or supplier performance.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, improve delivery reliability, and strengthen logistics processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or materials management in a manufacturing environment (automotive strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP or similar) and advanced analytical tools.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing cross-functional logistics teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of process-driven improvements.
- Familiarity with TS/IATF 16949 standards and automotive customer requirements preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
