There are multiple IMRF part-time positions available at Creekside Middle School for the school year. Positions vary from 6 to 6.75 hours per day, 5 days per week. The hourly rate is $18.10 per hour, and some positions include an additional $1 per hour for personal hygiene duties. Positions 6.5 hours per day or more qualify for health and dental insurance.

- Education and/or
Experience:
Must meet state/federal guidelines for School District paraprofessionals employed as teacher aide/associate. - Interpersonal
Skills:
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with other staff and to promote a positive team work environment. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups to staff, parents, students and administrators. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs. - Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. - Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Under the supervision of the special education certified staff member, work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material initially introduced by the certified staff.
- Facilitate the student’s efforts to meet the specific demands of assigned academic and social/emotional tasks; provide drill and practice on skills previously taught; provide cues and prompts during tasks; deliver specified consequences for targeted behaviors; promote situations that encourage positive academic and social interactions.
- Assist the certified staff member in devising strategies for reinforcing materials or skills based on an understanding of individual students’ needs, interests and abilities.
- Monitor and implement behavior intervention plans as directed; exhibit knowledge of IEP goals and assist in achieving those goals.
- Assist with modifying general education materials and provide physical and daily living assistance as needed (e.g., removing outerwear, toilet use, mobility within the school, etc.).
- Provide transportation and supervision support as required; assist with personal hygiene, adaptive equipment, and safety during emergencies, drills and field trips; record seizures and behaviors; assist with feeding skills as directed.
- Related duties may include assisting students in swimming or other activities, and providing oral and written translations as directed for students with limited English proficiency.
- Participate as a member of the IEP team; communicate concerns, changes and progress with the team; maintain confidentiality of student records in accordance with laws and district policies.
- Work collaboratively with the team; maintain anecdotal notes and progress reports; support transitions and inclusion efforts; participate in ongoing professional development.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the certified staff member, Building Administrator or designee.
